How to update "Multiple Validation Rules" for multiple objects in few clicks in salesforce?

Requirement:
For any Salesforce Admin or developer, if there is a requirement to Update multiple validation rules for multiple objects (for any Standard or Custom Object)

Validation updates includes: 
- Changing Rule Error Condition, Error message, Description, Error field for multiple rules.
- Changing Rule status from Active to Inactive or vice-versa for multiple rules.

Few Simple Steps to Update Validation Rules in salesforce

1. Open the BOFC Home > Click "Bulk Create ,Update, Delete & Export Validation Rules".

2. It will open below screen for validation rules.

3. Select the "Type of Operation as Update" from the dropdown and screen looks like below image:-

4. Once "Fetch Existing Rules" is clicked, it will fetch all the validation rules for selected object

  1. User can update rule as active or inactive, Description, error message and Error fields.
  2. User can select the checkbox in-front of each row to update validation rules.
  3. Click on "Update Rules" Button to update all the selected rules. 

5. Once the process gets completed, it will share the Status in Green. Validation Rule updated successfully and Screen looks like below image.

How to Compare Objects across multiple salesforce orgs in few clicks?

Requirement:
For any Salesforce Admin or developer, if there is a requirement to "Compare Objects" of same or different salesforce orgs and export results in XLS.

- For a developer, it will be a tedious and time taking job. User would have to open each salesforce org and verify all the fields one by one using Salesforce Standard process.  These type of work requests would take much more effort and time, but with our Salesforce Appexchange Bulk Object Field Creator (BOFC) App user can easily "Compare Objects" within same or different Salesforce org in few clicks.

1. Open the BOFC Home > Click "Compare Objects and Fields"


2. It will open below screen for "Compare Objects" page

User can add any environment or organisation details by clicking on "Manage Environment" button, otherwise goto next step 3.

Once "Manage Org details" is clicked, then click on "New Environment" button to add a details for new environment.

Add details for new org and Save it (Click ? infront of each field for any help)

Once details are added and saved, then close this "Manage Environment" popup and it will show the new connection added in the table. Perform same action for all the orgs for which objects need to be compared.

3. Select Object Name and choose two environments or orgs from the connection list.

  1. User can select the object name which needs to be compared from dropdown
  2. In case the object name is not available in point 1, user can manually type the object API name to compare.
  3. User can select the display type. Whether they need to Show Everything, or Show Differences, or Show Similarities.
  4. User can choose two environments or orgs from the connection list which needs to be compared
  5. Once all four points are done, then user can click on "Compare Objects" to check the results.

4. Once Compare Objects is clicked, it will display the results as shown in below image.

How to explore Salesforce Limits (used, remaining or max) for Multiple Objects in single xls sheet in Salesforce in few clicks?

IDEA:  For any Salesforce Admin or developer, there is a requirement to View or Export Salesforce Limits (used, remaining or max) for multiple objects (Custom or Standard Object) in xls. 

For eg: 

  • How many Custom fields are created on an Object?
  • What is the maximum number of Custom Fields which can be created on an Object?
  • What is the maximum number of Relationship Fields which can be created on an Object?
  • How many Validation rules are active on an Object?
  • What is the maximum number of Workflow Rules which can be created on an Object?
  • How many Approval Processes are active on an Object?
  • and many more 

It would be tedious job to open each object one by one using Salesforce Standard process and make a count of every item.

  3. Select "org to explore" option to select the org for which limits need to be checked. If org is not available in dropdown, it can be easily added using "Manage Org details button".
Once "Manage Org details" is clicked, then click on "New Environment" button to add a details for current org.

Add details for current environment and Save it (Click ? infront of each field for any help)

Once details are added and saved, then close this "Manage Environment" popup.

4. Click "Click to Initiate" button to view data for all the selected objects with all the selected details.

How to FIND Field visibility report on multiple Page Layouts for multiple Objects in single click?

I am Thankful to one of my BOFC user "Barbara" who has shared this below request:

"Is there a way to add onto a report or excel whether or not a field is currently active on a page layout (and if yes, which page layout)? This is something that’s always been a pain point to keep track of."


This is a time-consuming and a monotonous job for Salesforce developers and admin to manually open each layout for each object and create a report for it.

Solution

How to "Clone object" (Standard or Custom) in salesforce in few clicks?



Requirement:
For any Salesforce Admin or developer, if there is a requirement to Clone Standard or Custom Object (with Object details, Custom fields, Validation rules, Record types)

- For a developer, Clone object in Salesforce is a tedious and time taking job. User would have to open and copy each field, validation rules, record types one by one for an object using Salesforce Standard process.  These type of work requests would take much more effort and time, but with our Salesforce Appexchange Bulk Object Field Creator (BOFC) App user can clone multiple objects within same Salesforce org in few clicks.

  4. Field Permissions: 
    1. Clone Field Permission of Source Object fields to new fields
    2. Select new profiles for new fields
  5. Button "Click here to initiate process" - On clicking this button, it will start process to clone all the selected actions to target object
4. Once "Click here to initiate process" button is clicked, it will add a new section on same page to share clone status against each action:

5. Click "Create" infront of each row one by one and wait for process to complete. Once all create are clicked, you are done with your object cloning.

  1. Select single or multiple objects from the drop down. For ex:  Selected Objects: Asset, Case, Campaign, Case Test
  2. Select what needs to exported (for eg: standard fields, custom fields, etc)
  3. Select "Field Permissions" option to export field permission for all the standard or custom fields
  4. If Field Permission is selected, then it is mandatory to choose Profiles using "Select Profile(s) option.
  5. System Fields are the salesforce controlled fields which cannot be exported using normal way. This is a unique feature available in this tool.
  6. Click "Click to Initiate Export" button to export xls file for all the selected objects with all the selected details. It will exports single xls (with multiple tabs, one tab for each object) for all the selected objects in Salesforce           
4. On clicking the export buttons, it will display a small section on the page. This section show the status of your export for multiple objects. Wait for couple of seconds, until status is changed to "Completed"
  1. Status: Shows if process got completed or not
  2. Total Object Selected: Shows no of object selected to export
  3. Objects Processed: Shows no of object which are processed
  4. Failure: Shows no of objects which got error out
5. Once status is "Completed", your file is ready for export. This below image has some number highlighted in [].
  1. Download Complete Object Details: On clicking this link, it will download a xls file for all the selected objects. Each object is represented as a separate tab in xls. Each Tab will have complete detail of Object, Standard Fields, Custom Fields.
  2. Download only Custom Fields: On clicking this link, it will download a xls file for all the selected objects. Each object is represented as a separate tab in xls. Each Tab will have only Custom Fields. This is used when user needs to take export and insert same fields in some other orgs.
