How to Import or Clone Value Set or (Global Value Set) from any external salesforce org ?

Requirement

Salesforce Admins and Developers often face the need to clone or import Picklist Value Sets (Global Value Sets) from an external Salesforce org. Performing this task manually requires logging into another org, opening each Value Set individually, and copying values one by one—making the process slow, repetitive, and error-prone.

Few Simple Steps to Clone Value Set (Picklist value set)

1. Open the BOFC Home > Click "Manage Picklist & Global Picklist (Value Set)"


2. It will open below screen for "Import picklist Value Set" page


3. Select "Import Picklist Value Set or (Global Value Set) From External org" option and it will ask user to select the source salesforce org from which the valueSet needs to be imported or cloned.


User can Import Picklist Value Set from multiple salesforce org. Click on Manage Org Details to add any new org,otherwise goto next step 4.

Once "Manage Org details" is clicked, then click on "New Environment" button to add a details for source salesforce org.


4. Choose an option from "Select the type of values to Export/Import".

    1. User can select Select the type of values to Export/Import.
    2. User can select single or multiple "picklist value set(s)" of source org
    3. User can choose the type of action as shown in above image.
    4. Use this button "Click Here to Import Value Set" Button to start the import process.
    5. After clicking on "Click Here to Import Value Set" Import status display like below image:-


    6. You are done.Go to SetUp >> Search "Picklist Value Set" and check with newly imported picklist value set.
