How to Merge multiple Files / Attachments in Single PDF in Salesforce?

Scenario: I need to merge multiples files/attachments to generate a Single PDF document

Few Simple Steps to Merge Files in Salesforce using File ZIPO:

Step 1. Open the FileZIPO application from App Launcher & Click on "Merge Files" tab.

Step 2. It will open screen like below Image



 Above image has some features (each number has its description as below):
  1. Select single or multiple Files / Attachments.
  2. User can use multiple basic Filters like dropdown by Selecting "Files & Attachments" or "Only Files" or "Only Attachments", by Objects and by File / Attachments Name.
  3. User can use "Advance filter" by clicking on Filter Icon 
  4. Once files/attachments are selected, click on this button to "Merge Files" 
  5. User can use this filter to change the number of rows on the page.

How to use Advance FilterUser can use "Advance filter" by clicking on Filter Icon. Once clicked, it will open the popup like below image

 

User can use multiple type of filters like "Filter By Object", "Filter by User", "Filter by Keywords".

For eg:   Filter By Object

  • User can select the field from the dropdown.
  • User can choose operator like "Equals to / Not Equals to".
  • Enter the value of the Selected field in the first point.
  • Click on "Apply Filter" button to  get filtered Files/Attachments.
  • Once "Apply Filter" button is clicked, user will get filtered files / Attachments.

 Step 3. Once files/attachments are filtered, Click on "Click here to Merge Files" button.



        It will open below screen with popup:


Above image has some features (each number has its description as below):
             1. Enter all the required fields like
      • Name: Name of person who is raising this request
      • File name: Name of the merge file
      • Email: Merge PDF is sent on the email. User needs to enter the email on which they want to receive this PDF
      • CC Address: It's always belong to email address of Logged-In-User.
             2. Refer the blog for "Merge PDF file" for any reference or guidance
    3. Click on "Merge Files" button to initiate the process to merge files.

Step 4. Once the "Merge Files" button is clicked, it will show a status for this request with green message.

Step 5. Once email is received, user can click on the link to download the merge file.

  2. Click on "Click Here to Download/Transfer" button. 
  3. User can use multiple Filters like dropdown by Selecting "Files & Attachments" or "Only Files" or "Only Attachments", by Objects and by File / Attachments Name.

Step 4. After click on "Save Files" Button, screen look like below image.

 

Step 5. After completing the proccessing, go to your Google-Drive account to check your uploaded files, like below image.

        4. User can Enter New Folder name to save file in new folder on Box.com.
                 5. User can Overwrite Existing Files by clicking the checkbox.
        6. Click on "Save Files" Button to save files on Box.com.

    Step 4. After click on "Save Files" Button, screen look like below image.

     

    Step 5. After completing the proccessing , go to your Box.com account to check your uploaded files like below image.

        Few Simple Steps to upload/transfer files from Amazon S3 to Salesforce:

        As Files or Attachments of Amazon S3 can be linked to particular record in Salesforce, so we need to add the FileZIPO component on the Detail page of the record as the first step and then transfer files from Amazon S3 to Salesforce. 

        Note: You can skip step 1-6 if the FileZIPO component is already added on your record detail page.

        Scenario: I need to transfer or upload some files from my Amazon S3 to my Account record.

        Step 1. Go to App Launcher like below image.


        Step 2. Search any Standard or Custom object and click on the searched object. (Account object in this example)

        Step 3. Go to object record page by clicking on any record


        Step 4. Go To Gear Icon on the top right corner and click on "Edit Page".


        Step 5.  Once "Edit Page" is clicked, it will open the App Builder page.

                     1. Click on Tab section.
                     2. Click on "Add Tab" button.
                     3. Choose Tab label as "Custom" and enter name in "Custom label" as "File ZIPO"
                     4. Click on "Done" Button to add tab.

        Step 6. After adding tab, select the below component & drag the component to the newly added tab like below image.

        Name of Component: FileZIPO_ManageExternalFiles

        Click on Save and then Activate Button to add tab on detail page. 

        Step 7. Click on "Click Here to Add Files" button

        Step 8. Once "Click Here to Add Files" button is clicked, it will display the popup as shown in below image

          1. Choose the option as "Upload From Amazon S3". 
          2. Select Amazon S3 account from dropdown
          3. Enter your bucket name from Amazon S3 Account
          4. Click on Select Existing File button to upload File/Attachment from Amazon S3 to salesforce 
        Once "Select Existing File" button is clicked, it will open a popup screen like below image.

                     1. Select the existing folder.
                     2. User can easily "Drag & Drop" files to "Selected Files" section, like below image.



        Step 9. Once the files from Amazon S3 is selected, Click on "Continue" button from above image and screen looks like below image. The Selected files (from Amazon S3) are shown below:




        Click on "Save Files" Button and you are done. Go to record's related tab and check the uploaded files like below image.
